My name is Gail, and I am a qualified counsellor, coach, trainee supervisor and holistic practitioner.
I originally built my career within the corporate business sector, latterly with responsibility for workforce development, skills and employability, coaching, and the management of Apprenticeship programmes across multiple sites.
Through this experience, I came to realise that my true passion lay in working directly with people. I found immense fulfilment in supporting individuals as they pursued their goals and in witnessing their growth and success.
This insight prompted me to retrain as a counsellor—a path that complemented my existing coaching skills and enabled me to return to what I valued most: building meaningful connections with people and supporting their personal development.
Since then, I have undertaken additional qualifications, including Counselling Supervision and Reiki Practitioner.
Across these disciplines, I work primarily in a Person-Centred way, and my core beliefs centre on the idea that every individual possesses the innate capacity to grow, develop, and change, that everyone should have the chance to become the best version of themselves possible.
I also recognise that this journey is seldom straightforward. Life often presents us with complex and challenging issues that we must navigate before growth can take place.
For this reason, I believe it is essential to have a supportive environment—a space where you feel secure enough to openly discuss your thoughts and feelings. It is important to have someone you trust, who will listen without judgement, and who can offer understanding as you work through your difficulties. I aim to provide this for you.
I have previously worked for several charities across West Yorkshire, supporting clients facing a variety of challenges and am a tutor at a local college, where I teach a variety of counselling courses.
My professional experience also includes coaching staff at different levels within organisations, helping them to achieve their goals both in a business context and on a personal level. I am skilled in designing and delivering workshops and training programmes, working with local businesses to create bespoke solutions that address their specific needs.
I
am a Registered Member with the British Association of Counselling and
Psychotherapy (BACP). This means that I work in accordance with the BACP’s
Ethical Framework, ensuring high standards of professional practice. As a
qualified coach, I am also affiliated with the BACP’s Coaching Division.
I have experience of working with a wide range of issues, including, but not limited to:
I am a trainee supervisor, currently undertaking the client hours required to complete this qualification
I work with supervisees using the Seven-Eyed Model to support client work and give an overarching and holistic view of the processes taking place.
Sometimes it is easy setting a goal but can be difficult knowing how to achieve it. This is where coaching can be invaluable.
As your coach, I will use guided conversation and effective questioning, along with some practical interventions, to support you in unlocking your own capabilities and finding your own ideas and solutions to achieve the goals you have set.
Coaching may be useful for a variety of personal and professional issues, examples include:
Reiki is a gentle, non-intrusive, hands-on holistic therapy for balancing and healing all aspects of a person, using spiritual energy.
Originating from Japan, there are several forms of Reiki, my training is in Usui Reiki, which is the most common type used in the West and was developed by a Japanese Buddhist priest, Dr Mikao Usui.
