About me

Do you struggle to live in the moment? Overthink? Worry about what others think of you and your Choices? Do you want to care less and live more, find yourself and crack on with life?

We all go through some tough stuff at times and counselling is a great way of untangling problems or dealing with unwanted thoughts and feelings aswell as helping you learn about you. Counselling enables you to explore what is going on in your life right now and perhaps what has gone before to bring you to this point.

I offer an initial meeting or telephone conversation to allow you to decide if you are happy for us to work together, as I believe finding the right therapist for you benefits you. We work together at your pace without judgement and in confidence* in our counselling space tailored for comfort and in depth conversation if thats what you need.

I am approachable, down to earth and a bit different. I'd like my clients to learn something new about themselves and hopefully obtain some tools and life skills to help clarify where they are at the moment and where they want to be.

What can I help with?

- Anxiety               - Relationships

About me

Hi, I am a qualified counsellor whose approach and practice is person centred, what this means is that I believe we all experience and respond to life in our own unique way. I understand how life events and our response to them, shape who we are today and how this is in constant motion.

I appreciate how this can impact physically, spiritually, emotionally and mentally, leaving us at times feeling overwhelmed, out of control or unbalanced... this is where I aim to offer support.

Through our commitment to working together I hope we can discover what your needs are in order to restore your balance, gain some clarity and find a way forward.

I believe that through my offering understanding, acceptance, respect and valuing the person that you are, will provide you with the foundations necessary to achieve your goals through building a stronger relationship with yourself. I do this by providing a place, a moment, a snapshot in time for you to be you, free from the constraints of 'I should' or 'I ought'...

Life isn't always easy and we can lose our way, become distracted or lose focus. I am there during these times with an aim to provide an alternative, to open a door as it were, a chance for you to discover yourself and explore change. There will be challenges, at times you may feel like giving up, but together I hope we will find a way for you to face these challenges, for you to allow yourself to press pause and take the time to reconnect, rebalance and focus, on you.

For you to learn and accept that tomorrow doesn't have to be like today, tomorrow can be different.

Testimonials

In the clients words...

Lego Therapy

Lynsey has been working with small groups of targeted children at our school for around 6 months now and we have seen great results. The children involved with the programme are children who have or are pending a diagnosis for Autism, Asperger Syndrome or ADHD, along with pupils who benefit from practice with social interaction and communication skills. Pupils are able to explore, play, create, design and build whilst practising their listening and communication skills and learning that is ok to fail. Lynsey is extremely professional and all our pupils have quickly developed a 'bond' with her, which allows them to benefit fully from each session. Lynsey is patient and calm when dealing with pupils with complex needs. I would highly recommend Lynsey and the Lego Therapy programme. - FP Headteacher.

Counselling and wellbeing

The teaching profession can be an extremely rewarding but stressful and demanding job, with ever increasing numbers of teachers leaving the profession due to their high workload. Here at The Family of Learning Trust we place great emphasis on the wellbeing of both our pupils and our staff. Elements Therapies offer counselling sessions once a term for all members of staff within school who wish to take part. The Elements counsellors are professional and discreet when working with staff and always confidential. I would highly recommend Elements Therapies for any business or organisation wanting to invest in the wellbeing of their staff. The feedback from staff who have taken part has been extremely positive. - FP Headteacher
